How early  should I inquire about enrolling my child?

Our enrollment period typically runs from January to March for the upcoming year.   If there is more interest than spaces available at that point, we conduct a lottery.   If you are interested in enrolling your child at KIPP Adelante, please contact us as soon as possible.

Are there special requirements to enroll?

KIPP Adelante was founded as a college preparatory middle school for students in the Logan Heights and surrounding neighborhoods who traditionally have not had access to high-quality educational opportunities.  The only requirement for students to enroll is their willingness to work hard—as our school day is almost 10 hours long—and to be respectful to all of their teammates and teachers.

How much is tuition?  What fees are associated?

KIPP Adelante is a free public school.  Because over 90% of our students qualify for free and reduced-priced lunches through the federal nutrition program, almost all of our field trips and enrichment opportunities are offered free to our students.  One thing that we do ask for our families to contribute financially is the purchase of the school uniform.

What is KIPP Adelante's policy on enrolling family members of current students?

Siblings of current students do receive priority for enrollment and waitlist opportunities.

What happens after KIPP Adelante students graduate from 8th grade?

During their 8th grade year, students and their families work closely with our Director of High School Placement.  This full-time faculty member helps each student identify top-quality high school options and assists in the application and financial aid/scholarship process (if necessary).  It is our goal that all students attend college preparatory high schools.  While our KIPPsters are in high school, we will continue to support them in their college preparation by offering SAT preparation classes, helping with college essays, etc.

I am interested in touring KIPP Adelante.  What do I have to do?

Out of respect for our hard-working faculty and staff, please contact our school in advance to schedule an appointment for a tour.   To arrange a time to visit, please call Claudia García at 619-233-3242.
