Ms.
Wright is the Founding Principal of
KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy.
She has several years of teaching experience in bilingual classrooms in San
Diego, California and Phoenix, Arizona. Before founding KIPP
Adelante, she was the Director of Bilingual Programs at Tertulia Charter
School in Phoenix. Ms. Wright was responsible for overseeing the
implementation of a comprehensive federal Title VII grant to upgrade the
school’s dual language program. For three years, she was elected to
serve as the Teacher Representative on the Tertulia Board of Directors.
In addition, she coordinated professional development activities, served on
the School Improvement Team, founded a Girl Scout troop, and completed a
Principal internship and certification program.
As a
teacher, Ms. Wright taught bilingual third, fourth, fifth and seventh grades
and also wrote and received three teacher grants for bilingual resources and
a corporate grant for science resources. Ms. Wright is a Teach for
America alumna.
She
received her B.A. in Latin American Studies from Carleton College and her
Masters of Education in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from
Harvard University. In 2002, she was awarded a KIPP Fisher Fellowship
and completed an intensive school leadership program at UC Berkeley.

St. Claire has sixteen years of teaching
experience both in his home country, South Africa, and in the United States. In
addition to teaching children, St. Claire has educated future teachers at
Dominican University where he taught
methodology and teaching seminar classes. St. Claire holds degrees from the
Dower College of Education and the
University of Port Elizabeth. He also holds a Ph.D. from the American
College of Metaphysical Theology.
He continued his studies at
Rhodes University
to complete another post-graduate degree in Educational Leadership and
Management. He lectured at the Kagisanong College of Education
in Bloemfontein before coming to the United States in 1999 for a teaching
position in North Carolina.
Before joining the KIPP Adelante
Preparatory Academy faculty, St. Claire taught at Noble Street Charter School in
Chicago, IL where he taught math and initiated the National Honors Society as
well as the Honor Roll and High Honor Roll. Two summers ago he traveled to
Russia with many of his students—a trip that he organized and for which he
fundraised. St. Claire also initiated the
National Junior Beta Club at KIPP Adelante and continues to lead it as its
faculty co-sponsor.

Ms.
Alandydy is a project manager for University of California, San Diego Health
Care Services. Prior to this, Ms. Alandydy was a Senior Project Manager for
The New Teacher Project, an entrepreneurial, nonprofit consulting
firm, spun-off from the nationally renowned teaching corps, Teach For
America, and dedicated to improving teacher quality in public education
systems nationwide. Before joining The New Teacher Project, Ms.
Alandydy was the Director of Education for the Providence Black Repertory
Company, where she founded and managed an arts-based education practice
within the non-profit theatre company to serve at-risk populations of
students within the Providence Public School District. Ms. Alandydy began
her professional career as a management consultant for
APM/CSC
Healthcare,
where she consulted in both the for-profit and nonprofit healthcare sectors,
advising clients on corporate market strategy, organizational development,
and the reengineering of operational practices. Prior to her work with
KIPP Adelante, Ms. Alandydy held advisory positions with Reach Out
and Read/Rhode Island and the Providence Performing Arts High School
Development Committee. Ms. Alandydy is a two-time graduate of Brown
University, earning both an A.B. in English Literature and a Master of Arts
in Teaching, and was the recipient of the graduate-school’s Rose Writing
Fellowship. She is credentialed to teach English and Language Arts at the
secondary level.

Elidia C. Dostal |

Ms.
Dostal is an associate in Latham & Watkins downtown San Diego office. Ms. Dostal has litigation experience in both business and environmental matters,
including land use and toxic tort litigation for clients such as
ChevronTexaco, Sempra Energy Resources, and Montrose Chemical Corporation.
Ms. Dostal has experience in supporting major tax transactions. She has
also assisted in the formation of non-profit organizations and obtained
federal and state tax exemption status for clients such as the Danielle Van
Dam Legacy Foundation. Ms. Dostal assisted in the formation of a non-profit
join venture formed to obtain bond financing for charter school facilities.
Ms. Dostal is a former California Franchise Tax Board Auditor and Protest
Unit Hearing Officer. She is also a member of the State Bar of California
and the American Bar Association. Ms. Dostal's education includes a
Bachelors degree from California State University, Stanislaus, and her J.D.
degree from Yale Law School.

Victor Pérez |

Mr.
Pérez has over 37 years of experience in Photography and Fine Art. He is on
the Board of Directors of the
San
Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild.
Mr. Pérez is also the former Fine Arts Coordinator/Superintendent of the
San Diego County Fair Exhibition of Art for the state of California.
He holds two
California Community College
Instructors teaching credentials in art and design including photography,
and in fine and applies arts and related technologies. A well-known
photographer, artist, and educator, he has been assisting different art
groups as a program developer, teacher, mentor, and consultant for many
years. Mr. Pérez’s background includes being the founder and first
President of the San Diego State University Alumni Art Association in
1976. He is also the Artistic Director for the Combined Organizations
for the Visual Arts (COVA) in San Diego. His education
includes a Masters in Art Degree in Painting and Drawing from California
State University-Long Beach, and a Bachelors degree in Arts and Sciences in Painting and Printmaking from San Diego State University. |
