KIPP Adelante’s rigorous and college preparatory academic program is based on the California Content Standards and emphasizes the mastery of basic skills and the critical ways of thinking within each academic discipline. Emphasizing basic skills in reading, writing and math, program features include:
More Time on Task
- Daily classes from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Longer days allow time for all academic and enrichment classes
- Saturday classes once a month
- Visits to 20 college campuses by the 8th grade
- Monthly field lessons to educational and cultural sites in southern California
- End-of-year field lessons to cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston

- Small School environment
- Teachers are available by phone at night for homework questions and emergencies
- Parents are supported and expected to be partners in their students’ education

All students will complete:
- An Algebra 1 course-gatekeeper for college preparatory high school classes
- A challenging literature-based English-Language Arts program
- Laboratory-based science course
- High School Placement course
- Multimedia Technology course
